I apologize for being rude. I just find it painful that I get flamed because I'm in the business of Rovers. I would never steer anyone towards anything or anyone for personal gain. Several people on here PM me frequently and I am constantly sending them in the best direction, rarely to RN unless I know we have a better price/product for what they're looking for.

I always recommend Doug because I've never met another shop that will wait at 5am Thanksgiving morning for a Eastern European auto transporter to pick up a vehicle. He serviced the D1 I purchased for the last decade, so I'm assuming the previous owners liked his service.

When I said "without question", I should have noted that I would recommend them without question, not that they are the best. I do not have experience with any other shop, I just know that Doug is a great guy and that many people speak very highly of him.

Ditto on Doug Hoblitt at Green Oval. He has a passion for LRs. Very helpful and always willing to provide his insights. He would offer alternatives based on your budget (e.g., even offer to get good used parts for a job if your budget is tight). You can count on his word and willing to work with you if something is not right.

It's hipsters not hippies you have to worry about in Portlandia.

You're right ZG. The hipSTERs are in Oregon. The hiPPIES moved north to WA state.... since this is the state which has legalized pot

The hipsters who are also hippies are camped out along the Columbia River to get the best of both worlds. (For those who do not know, Columbia River is the border between OR and WA state near Portland).

Ironically the hipsters in Portland are largely migrants from Vermont!

The actual hippies moved north from California...
