Power Brake Booster

Not to steal your thread...but I'm kinda curious if anyone has used a brake booster or master cylinder from another vehicle? I'd heard somewhere that the LR3 stuff might possibly work better, and was swappable, but I've seen no confirmation of that. Anybody got any upgrade ideas for the brake booster or master cylinder?

Figured out where I heard it...it was on the YT channel called Dirt Lifestyle. He was doing 1 ton axle swaps on his D2, and mentioned that he had a LR3 booster/master that he was going to experiment with, but I never heard anything past that. Maybe it didn't work out, maybe he never followed thru and tried it, IDK. Worth buying the parts and checking it out...maybe?

Based on experience, I do not recommend a rebuild. I installed and a week later a had to really jump on the brakes when a deer tried to mate with my hood. The bolts holding the booster in place sheared off, reducing me to almost Fred Flintstone-like brakes.
For less than $200, you can get a brand new one

No, he listed the LR3 part. You cannot buy the D2 booster new anymore, only rebuilds. The LR D2 part# is SJG500030 for 03-04 years. I once saw a new one at Lucky8, but they wanted $900 for it.
SJG500030 from 2003 - 2004
