Default Power loss after warms up

After my D2 warms up (driving 15-20 minutes) the SES light starts flashing & I lose power. If I just drive short distances 5-10 min it's fine, no problems.

Any ideas on what this might be?

any codes stored? Usually a number of misfires can set the light flashing, and combined with heat up that may mean a cracked ignition coil, etc. Or just really bad plug wires.

I'm going to get the codes checked & can let you know what I get - I am replacing the plug wires...they need it.

I had read something about the injector harness getting soaked in oil & causing similar symptoms.....ever heard of that?

Thanks.

The injectors get 12 volts of battery power, and the engine computer switches on /off the ground for each one to make them squirt. Not as likely. Another thing you can do is let the truck idle tonight, and look under the hood in total darkness, may see tiny sparks along plug wires and associated parts. Plug wires are not easy to do, but there are write ups on here you can search out for swapping them without having to take off the top of the engine, takes time.

Get us the fault code numbers before you start throwing parts at it.
Also, who's wires are you planning on using? You need a good 8 mm silicone wire, like a Magnecor or STI, do not install a set from the local parts store, they won't hold up.

I just replaced the wires - good news/bad news.

Good news: It was easy!! I was worried after all the write-ups, but I was able to worm my hand behind the intake & do the job quite easily....without taking any parts off the engine. Took me just under an hour.

Enough gloating....on to the:

Bad news: The problem still exists. It ran great for 15 minutes or so (better than before). After that the problem returned.

I got it tested at AutoZone & following are the codes they gave me:
- 300 (Random cylinder misfire detected)
- 301 (Cylinder 1 misfire detected)
- 306 (Cylinder 6 misfire detected)
- 1690 (Neutral position switch circuit high input)

I also read that this could be a symptom of the CAT's going out - The post I read said to look under the truck to see if it is glowing red - Mine was not.

Any assistance is appreciated.

Don't try and figure out your trucks issues, go get the codes read and get back to us with "YOUR" codes, unless you just want to throw good money at your truck because that fixed someone elses issues.
