My wife and I got a ‘99 Disco II for $1,500. It looks like not much has been kept up on it and it has 150k miles. Was that a good buy?

We we plan to put money into this, as it will be our bugout ride when this beautiful country goes bonkers even more than it already has.

The biggest things I notice on it that need changed are
-Power steering pump
-Transfer case
-All O2 sensors
-Power seat motors are wore out


And to the point of the title of this post, the motor that controls the forward/backward motion on the driver seat is needing replaced. Can anyone refer me to some DIY videos on this????

 

Not sure of any videos, but likely the motor is not worn out, usually what happens is the thermal fuse inside is permanently open. I have soldered them permanently closed before, but actually much easier to just replace it with one that does not have that problem. Wrecking yard or one of the forum breakers (Will Tillerey, Paul Grant, Tarheel Rover).

Also, not sure the problem but full transfer case failure is very rare.
