Power Seat Manual Adjust
Hi All, I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I just got my 2004 Disco2 over the weekend, and am trying to iron out some of the fixes it needs.
One thing is that the power seats up front don't work. Using information from here, I determined the underseat fuses and relays are ok.
Until I can get that sorted out, I pondered a quick and dirty fix (we have ppl coming and a little legroom in the back seats would be nice). I read several places that you can adjust the seats with a power drill. But I can't figure that out either.
The assembly looks like this, where would you spin anything to make it work?
Thanks in advance!

There are larger fuses under the hood. One of those can be gone?
You could inject 12 volts right into the fuse with maybe a wire from the cigarette lighter to move the seat. You would need one of those goofy plug in things with the two wires coming out. If there is a short it will then blow the fuse for the cigarette lighter.

Good idea! I have looked at the underhood and drivers' footwell fuses, they look good. I don't really have any way to check the relays outside of swapping them around though - so that's a question mark.
I will also try cleaning the seat switches. My first guess was that with both seat adjustments completely out, it was probably upstream.
There are several other things I need to track down as well, and partly I was wondering if they all might be related. Fog lights, cruise control, some back seat switches.
But not having to drive slouched-down-gangster style is first priority.
