Default Power steering failure in 2003 DII

Good morning gents,
So first post but I unfortunately have read every oil sensor light thread. My girl’s rover is out of the death range and I think I have been working through some sludge after finally switching the 8 to synthetic(77k). The rig has been running well but we have lost power steering all together. There was no air in the lines as I did not hear that noise. We have not heard any thunks or any specific noises that could be associated. My girlfriend was just driving home two days ago and when she pulled on our dirt road she lost power steering. No lights came on and again no noises. This happened months back when it was -20 but we gained power after driving. Upon inspection I saw a power steering fluid through out the front of the motor, steering box and wires. I wiped all these areas down and could not replicate the leak yesterday. I gained power for one test run and then lost it this morning. Blown seal cracked hose? I am draining some power steering fluid but not a crazy amount. Disco mike help a fellow Coloradoan!
Thanks gang! Happy friday

The power steering pump is a common leak, the seal leaks on it.
If you remove the pump you can reseal it with RTV, just let it set up 24 hours before putting it back on the truck.
