Default Power steering fluid

Just bough my 1st land rover disco 2.
New to me and going over things I noticed power steering fluid is low, I couldn't find anything in manual about what type it needs. Is there a specific fluid or would generic ps fluid be ok.
Thanks for any help you can offer.

Some swear by Pentosin for these trucks. Although, when I replaced my pump, I refilled with something from O’reilly (Prestone I think) and have no issues.

I personally use Royal Purple Power Steering fluid, but it can be hard to find depending on your location.

The Brits here swear by using any green central hydraulic fluid (CHF) in the D2s power steering system.
Which is good because I always use the green Pentosin CHF fluid in my Disco 2.

i use Schaeffer Synthetic ATF in both my '04s.

check to see what color your fluid is, if possible. this will give some indication of what to use.

edit: Additional info.

My manual says, "Texaco Cold Climate PAS fluid 14315," so looked it up and bought some Prestone synthetic power steering fluid before I even took possession of my Disco. Then I did more research and found that but LRNA also says that Dexron II is acceptable. I realized that I had a few bottles of Red Line synthetic power steering fluid in the cabinet that are compliant with Dexron II standards, and also I had a few bottles of Red Line ATF left over from my long-departed BMW 750iL's power steering and hydraulic auto-leveling rear suspension system. So, I've accidentally got lots of options, enough to go about flushing both the power steering and ACE systems some quiet weekend in the near future.

So, with all of these choices, is it OK to mix and match?? Just -o- wonderin'

If they're all Dexron II clones, it may be safe... but I think I'd rather pump the system dry and refill with just one oil. Surely, money isn't so tight that you can't buy enough to fill with the same type of oil?

Also, I've been so busy the last few weekends that I haven't gotten round to flushing my power steering or ACE systems. Maybe this weekend.?..
