Hello All,

Looking for some clarity since couldn't find any on RAVE ...what is the total fluid needed after Power Steering Pump replacement, just trying to determine how many quarts to buy to ensure max fill.

The other question, which is the Power Steering fluid of choice? I've read many mentioned the Red Valvoline bottle, what are your thoughts? Thanks.

I've always just used Power Steering Fluid. Nothing special.

+1 on the Pentosin. I've tried a generic power steering fluid but went back to the Pentosin. Its pretty expensive but for me it made a bid difference.

I've used everything from 15w40 to Transmission Fluid and a few things in-between. In fact ATF is my go to. Other users have noticed some difference using "other than stock" fluids, but I have not. Very happy with the performance of ATF and sometimes thickening the fluid a bit with some 15w40 will help quiet a noisy PS pump.

I noticed a huge improvement in steering feel as well as a reduction in noise after switching to Pentosin CHF. But it's damn expensive.

The Lucas leak stop is a good add in if you have any random leaks. I have used the cheap stuff with no issues.

I think using the Stop Leak will give your PS pump and Steering box a life expectancy. I believe it swells the seals and will stop or slow the leak for a time, but rapidly increase the wear on your seals.
