Default power steering problems

Hey there, I have a 2001 d2 se, and here recently when I am turning around or making real sharp turns my steering wheel will vibrate and make a horrible vibration sound, its usually 2 short vibrations then it stops. My fluid level is good and I don't have ace. Is this a sign that my power steering pump is going out or is it maybe something else? Can anyone help?

Have you tried bleeding it? Is it a sound that seems to be coming from the engine (relative to engine speed: sqeeling) or is it a grinding or metallic clunk that could be something with the box. Does it do it left and right?

You don't need to bleed it. How many miles on the truck, on the belt and when did you last do a full flush on your p/s system?

I haven't tried bleeding it, and its a deep low end vibration. It does it from left to right, but only while turning, and not when I have turned as far as the wheel will turn.
Thanks andy

I have 152,000 on it, I don't believe there has ever been a flush on the p/s. I have a 02 parts vehicle it may have a better belt then mine

So, you now know where to start. Do you ever follow a service guide for maintaining your truck, if not may want to look at mine.
If you want help with this, send me your number and I'll walk you thru how to flush it with 4 quarts of p/s fluid.

This only happens when you are turning it briskly
in the morning after starting from dead cold.

Seems to be a steering box issue.

I have the best Honda power steering fluid in the unit and it still does this.

In fact -
our D1 and D2 does this right in the morning.
Then never when driving.

I would just not worry about it.
I Just replaced the PS pump in both the D1 and D2
