At this point, besides the leak, you have probably toasted the pump.
Quit driving it, find the leak and then replace the pump.

I would replace the power steering high pressure hose.
I would check all the clamps on the remaining hoses.

Also know this..

Any oil - from the engine or power steering -
that gets on the pan head bushings -
will cause the bushings to fail.

And, your steering will get VERY LOOSE.

You may even get the death wobble.

Clean up all oil leaks.

Lived through the death wobble on our Discovery I.
Finally fixed all the oil leaks and new bushings.

For the three years and 32,000 miles I've had my Disco II I've never had power steering... Reservoir never leaked, only works when the engine is cold. You guys sound like experts on this, what do you think it is?

ONCE, thank god its only once, the little silver paper that covers the top of the fluid bottle, the part you have to poke a hole in to get the fluid to come out, had fallen into the reservoir, NOT KNOWING, the reservoir was full, didn't leak and didn't work.
It had sunk and stuck to the hole in the reservoir that feeds the pump.

I change my PS fluid every year. If its not clear, its dirty. Dirty fluid is abrasive, and thicker to push.

My PS groan has stopped since I keep it flushed. Also, I use fluid that doesn't appear to be too thick.
