Default PRE rear bumper build opinions.

Trim the rear quarter panel straight or something similar to the Greg Davis style bumper?

Both have good angles, both strong.

Mostly concerened about the GD style's/straight cut "sliders" under the quarter panels being bolted to the steel plate inside the wheel well. I'm almost positive if that ever got slammed it would wreak havoc to your rear quarter panels. I think it would bend that plate and the leverage the slider would have would rip/bend the rear mounts. Although, it is, imo, by far the best bumper you can buy, in aesthetics and function. I would just like to improve it for the oh sh*t moments I will be having post axle swap. Any opinons on improvements are welcome, so please chime in.

Also, if anyjaun has any pics of the straight cut rear, I would greatly appreciate if you could post it up.

Honestly it looks so much better when the bumper angles down a bit towards the wheel well and it has for a long time...

^ Aesthetically speaking yusssss, plus the GD type quarter panel sliders would led me actually slide instead of slam unlike the flat. I'm just looking for some added strength to the gd design or I'll go with the flat one.

You can weld to the chassis like my friend did, and add another bar. Here's a photo of his truck.

What I wouldn't give for an early IIa 109 Station Wagon. But not too early. I want the lights on the radiator panel, but I'm not sure I want positive earth.

I forgot about the frame. I'm thinking about just putting an angled cross member that will bolt to the frame, that should give me the impact protection im looking for.

EDIT: Also. Anyone know of a source for some replacement lights for the new rear bumper? I'm looking for amber/red just in a smaller size
