Thinking it's time upgrade my truck which means I'll probably sell my Disco, too. I'm confused on price. Some are stupid high and kbb, etc is insultingly low....I've seen parts trucks sell for what they say these are worth.
What range is this thing worth? No known issues. 2001 SD w/ 76,000 miles. Bought about 6 yrs ago in TX and had it rust proofed. So it's in very clean, rust free condition. Some door dings etc and both front and rear bumper covers are cracked. New shocks, prob 8-10k miles on tires. Small tear on drivers seat. Pretty much low miles stock rover. Thoughts?
Agreed with Extinct on the front bumper. I think an $8-10k sale price is reasonable, meaning I would start listing it at $11,250 or so. I'm sure you have service records. I've always found records and pictures of the vehicle throughout your ownership are huge assets when selling to a buyer that is willing to pay on the high end of what the vehicle is worth.
Low miles, rust free, SD trim, you've got a great truck there.
The KBB is a dealer tool it has not had any relevance in most markets in years, 20 years ago my father who had sold cars for 30 years called it a joke the only time most dealers will reference it is when the vehicle is grossly undervalued, never over or average. The only way to know is either watch the classified's or ask on a forum like this.
They show the average price of an 04 and 3-5k (dealer and private) and trade in as 1500. I have not seen a private sale below 6k for on a 03/04 in good shape and 2500 for one needing head gaskets and it sold.

If you repair or replace the bumpers and seat cover I would say it is an $8-10k truck.
Really? I find that hard to believe, but thanks to all for the info. I'll have to do a bit more homework on this then. I was pretty discouraged after checking KBB

Last two I sold for $7 and $6 with 150 and 170k respectively. All mine are sold with zero issues and yours has issues, but that mileage is highly desirable and with zero issues it would be a $15k truck. But that is if you replace every component in the cooling system and do every needed PM - PCV mod, Inline mod, ABS mod, CPS, door track lube, etc..
