Default problem removing fill plug transfer box

i've tried multiple ratchets and extensions. what's the easiest way to remove it? how hard would it be to get what looks like an e-break cable out of the way?

Yeah it's tricky- I use a wobble type extension and go at it from an angle and you can sort of move the cable enough to get it out.

I find it easier on the 99-02's vs the 03/04 D2's It's still a pita but it could be worse!

If you use a breaker bar and go in front of the e-brake cable, that's the easiest way I've found. I have an '03 D2

1/2" breaker bar and a wobble. Although it may not seem like it the E-brake cable has just enough slack to maneuver around. You'll get it...

A breaker bar wouldn't open mine up. I even used a 22" one and still wouldn't budge. What ended up working for me was a lot of PB blaster and my 1/2" Milwaukee drill. 1/2" DeWalt impact couldn't even do it.

That's nuts! How frustrating.

It's a fill "plug" not a head fastener. Wonder if someone cranked it tight or it just seized over time from environmental conditions.

Actually, it looked like some genius had put non-removable Loc-Tite on it...

It's good stuff, just not good on a fill plug.

1/2 braker bar, pushed the ebrake cable out of the way enough to get the braker bar into the fill plug. was real hard to turn, but i got it. would have like to hit it with the impact, but as far as i can tell, you need to use a swivle or something correct? you cant hit the fill plug straight on because of the ebrake drum.
