I am looking for a 03 SE7 not sure what is up with the 03's but I would rather have an 03+ over my 95.

find a safe place to pull over ASAP to minimize damage to your life..you can always buy a new engine.

There are a number of '03's with bad oil pumps, you lose oil pressure and then blow up the engine if you dont catch it in time.

Do I use key powder to help or do I just not have the hang of the twist and pull method yet?

I'm glad to hear most of the problems are easy fixes but I am wary of the hg and fuel pump problem.

Thanks again guys!
Poop the trim piece out of the top of the gear shift ****, tighten the nut in there, that should take care of your key problem.
If not then a new ignition switch will be in order soon, so try the key lube stuff to by some time.

Okay I checked it out and mine is one of the vin's with the faulty fuel pump. Do I just keep my eye on it by shutting down quickly after the warning light or install an oil press guage to monitor it at all times? Also how does the nut around the gear shift correspond to the ignition? Could I just replace the pump or do you have to pull the whole motor?

Should I try to possibly get an aftermarket warranty? Thanks for all the great tips guys, keep it coming if you can.

it's the OIL pump, it has nothing to do with the fuel pump or fuel system.

I am a proud 2003 Disco owner. I haven't had any of issues of the "2003" problems. Maybe I lucked out but I looked for a long time for my car and the previous owner always took it Land Rover to get it serviced so perhaps some upgrades were made.

As for the key switch it takes time getting used to it but it's not a problem at all for me anymore. If your steering wheel locks up though it can be a bitch to turn the ignition.

Yeah haha sorry. I keep on trying to put down oil pump but kept putting down fuel for some reason instead. How about the suspension? I read somewhere that we have air sspension? Is there any way to visually inspect the parts or just to hope and pray?

if your rover is sagging in the back one morning then you'll know airbags are leaking..mine have a slow leak but its not much of a problem
