Default puddle of coolant

Hello,
I bought my first Rover 3 weeks ago. 2001 Disco II, 93k miles. It was pretty low on coolant when I bought it so I added some and bled the system. Ran perfect until yesterday, a pool of coolant on the garage floor. Looks like the wetness is starting about mid way down, from the two metal lines that run from the reservoir. There is a constant drip, about every 3-5 seconds. It is everywhere underneath though I assume this started while driving and soaked everything. The dripping is coming from one spot now, it appears, right from beneath where the 2 metal lines run down from above. I took some pics but they didnt turn out the greatest. Could the metal lines just be bad or just a bad connection on one of them. It appears all dry from right above that point........I am lost on this one. I am pretty mechanically inclined, just not familiar with alot on this machine. Any help or ideas are appreciated. I have read many posts in the forum but still lost. (I will try to get some better pics during the day)

Cheers,

From personal experiences, it could be a slight crack on the bottom of the reservoir.

Check the throttle body heater plate. These seam to leak on alot of Land Rovers. If it is leaking Buy one of these. http://www.roverparts.com/Parts/MGM000010KG.cfm. I found that using UV die in the coolant really make leaks stand out. Use a UV flashlight and uv eye protection.

Those metal lines dont carry coolant.

Clean the engine and then start at the throttle body and work your way down.
The throttle body and head gaskets are the #1 repairs on a DII.

Puddles of coolant suck. I came out of work yesterday and there was a huge pool of bright fluorescent green coolant everywhere on the ground (I had a bottle of dye in it). It was embarrassing because I was parked next to the principal and he had to step in it to get in his truck. Lucky i am an experienced Disco owner and had 2 gallons of premixed coolant in the back tool box (along with enough tools to to do a head gasket job).

After a few hours of cleaning I was able to follow the leaking up to where I believe the water pump is. I looks like it starts right behind the pulley that is centered right behind the cooling fan, think its the water pump? If not, do tell......My best friends cousin worked at a Rover dealership for a couple years and walked me through replacing the pump over the phone, didnt seem too bad of a project. I will also replace the belt at the same time as there are cracks visible. The first 2 weeks with this thing were great, the last week and week to come seem less fun, but still lovin it, and learing alot about it, thanks to these forums.

Cheers!

Also replace the t/stat and the upper radiator hose, if the bleed screw is built into the upper radiator hose cause they are prone to failing.
Do you know how to bleed the coolant system of air when done?

Thanks, got the new t-stat already, ordering the new hose right away per one of your previous posts, also know how to bleed thanks to you!! Replacing belt and the pulleys too as long as Im in there, not sure of the vehicles previous history so I figured better just do it.

Cheers!
