Default pulsating after brake job.

I just replaced rear rotors and brake pads with the akebono pads and flushed out and replaced brake fluid with dot4. Im now getting a slight pulsating feel in the brake pedal with moderate braking, its not the rapid abs pulsate that you get when stopping on slippery surface its more of a slower steady pulse. There are no abs or traction lights on of any kind. The one thing I noticed during installation is the screw that goes in each rotor to attach to hub was missing on both sides, I did not replace them thinking wheel pressure is more then enough to hold rotor to hub. Also, I have only a couple hundred miles on new brakes and the cross hatching on rotors is still not worn, could the brake pads just need more time to "break in"? Any thoughts?

If the Rotors are not fixed in position, it is possible some debris shifted between the Rotor and Hub. It does not take much to cause the Rotor to not be parallel anymore. The easy way to check is with a dial-indicator mounted to body or suspension, measure the run-out of the rotors. If the rotor is not true, take them off and clean the surfaces where they mount to the hubs.

thanks. I dont have a dial indicator, I guess I could pull the rotors and inspect but, it all looked clean and smooth when I put it together.

If you still have a pulsation after replacing the screw, then I would look at the rotors, they can become warped when stores, what brand did you buy?

I would talk to Advanced and see about getting them replaced since they are the only thing that can cause our problem other them having the hex head screw installed.

Will do, where might one find the screws for the rotors? Is a place like AB the only place to get them?
