Default Question on the 3 amigos?

When the 3 amigos is caused by the actual abs unit do the 3 lights stay on continuously or do they pop on once in a while? Mine pop up randomly if at all and it seems like they do when I touch the brakes.

Some codes are hard codes that require clearing, some codes will reset when you restart the car if the condition isn't currently present. The SVS codes usually will reset every time you start the car, until they've presented something like 256 times.

there is a guy 6 posts up that is selling the tool you will need once you get a hard code, you might want to look at it.

You can also rent it for cheap.

My lights were on constantly because the shuttle valve switch had a bad solder joint in it.

I think the lights can be intermittant if there's a bad solder joint in the SVS circuit board.

Knowing what I know now, I'd pull the ABS unit, check the switch, check for a bad joint in the unit itself, perform the option b fix no matter what, put it back together and see if the amigos go out.

If the lights are still on, then I'd rent a abs amigo.

If your lights come on once in awhile, you have more of a soft fault, similiar to an engine code pending. If you catch it before the computer locks in a hard fault, lights always on, then you can save your self some grief. Have you inspected your brake pads, are they wearing out, how about your rotors, do your front wheels show a lot of brake dust or are your brakes squeaking? These are just a few things that will eventially trow a hard fault.

My "amigos" come on randomly. I will go days where they do not come on at all but then have times when they stay on all day. I have read on here about renting something that clears but my question is would it clear them for good or will clear them until they decide to come on again?

They'll likely come on again.

Default stuff

The rotors and pads look descent, not to bad but not great. The truck sat for almost over a year in the last 2 years. I kinda wondered if maybe the abs sensors are dirty. This is the first real time ive driven this vehicle. I guess Ill work the abs unit and see if that helps.
