On my 2004 d2 I'm doing my tranny fluid replacement I began by removing my full plug first and about 2 litres came out of it is this Normal or was it overfilled ? I thought the fluid should be level with this plug

You fill the tranny when the engine is running and ATF is pumping through the tranny. Since the engine isn't running when you drain, it's higher than the fill level. So this is normal.

Ouch !
So when Jiffy lube checked the level with engine off and only a few drops came out; means it is underfilled ?

YES. I would get that taken care of pronto. these trannies are built to take a lot of abuse but they need their fluid.
I would highly suggest not going to jiffy lube as they are really not versed in these trucks. especially with the tranny. for 30 bucks you can get the basin, the hand pump you need to take care of this on your own.

Thanks Jeffh !
Am ordering immediately a Disco 1 Tube and dipstick; will adapt to my Disco 2 transmission and let know details of surgery. No more Jiffys, no more risks, no need for filling kits, just a funnel for peace of mind...
