Default questionable Battery question

I am still using the original battery for my 2004 D2. I was just looking it over and noticed that the little view circle is no longer green. It is black. I am not having any battery problems at this point. Should I replace the battery or just wait until I do have problems?

Yea, the Diehard Platinum batteries are great. I am considering them for the boat. The only thing that is holding me is the price but they are the best deal for a AGM type battery out there.

Replace it before it leaves your wife stranded.

Duralast Gold, its made right here in MI, 1000 amps and was $90 3yrs ago when I bought mine with a 8 yr warranty.

Wife drives the Tacoma. She won't get stranded.

The Diehard Platinum is $210 versus the Duralast Gold cost $100. Does anyone know where the Diehard battery is made?

I believe they are both made by Johnson Controls but they are two completley different batteries. The DH is a glass mat - deep cycle battery.

They are made by Odyssey but I am not sure where. The reason they are so expensive is that they are absorption glass matt. They charge quicker, don't leak acid or gases, and last longer. I see that you can buy two Duralast Golds for the price of one Diehard Platinum so it might not be worth it. I doubt that they will last twice as long so it might be smarter to just stick with a good lead acid battery.

Diehard Platinum is made by Enersys (same company makes Odyssey) here in the US.
The Platinums are identical to equivalent Odysseys except for case color and label.

The Duralast could very likely be made by Johnson Controls, who makes the "normal" Sears batteries and many other brands.

+1 for replacing it...I didn't and my wife called me from the interstate...it was in "limp mode" and not shifting right....new battery, no more problem.
