Default quick radio/ipod question

is the head unit in the later model (02-04) discos the same as the earlier one? I asked tech support for Grom and they said their ipod interface works with the 02-04 but with the exception of the two buttons in the lower left corner they look identical. Mine has a music symbol and an "i" instead of two music symbols and two little speakers. Do you think it will work?

You can try. I have no idea. If it does not work, return it or get a later model head unit on e-bay and sell yours.

Atlantic British sells an interface that works on all D2's

I believe theya re the same, although there were a couple of radio options, if not, click on the link in my signature section and read up on converting your radio to a plug in assembly.

Is it the unit that replaces the cd changer? If so it was pretty much plug and play plus you can still use the steering wheel controls. If you have plugged it into the head unit and it still doesn't work then its prob a bad unit. I had to break the tabs off of mine to get it to cram under the head.

it just came in the mail today. I got the little metal stereo pullers from walmart and installed it. it works just as advertised. slave7 you were able to fit it under the metal support piece? i removed the labs but i couldn't get it to fit, right now its just hanging where the ash try was i was planning on finding a better place for it when i had the time but i couldn't take another morning sitting in traffic listening to the radio

Yeah man I popped the tabs off the side and moved wires around under the headunit until I could get it to fit. It is a tight fit and takes some effort to get it to work but it is do-able. I also routed my cable to the glove box so I can stash my ipod without having to unplug it. That was easy to do as well, I just had to take the ashtray, coin holder, and cup holders out via the two screws and feed the line over to the glove box. The guy who posted the instructions I folowed hasn't responded to my pm so I guess I can't repost his pics.
