Try just replacing the zirc fitting first. They do get clogged and will not allow grease in. There is also a tool I think for cleaning them.

I wouldn't replace it with a cheap aftermarket like that.

Id spend the extra $13 and go with something reputable for a part like this (Hardy Spicer)

He was refering to beating on the u-joint/yoke some with a hammer to see if you could brake the dried up inerds of the u-joint free so grease would then flow..It's kind of an old last attempt to get grease inside a stuborn u-joint.

As an alternative, if the zerk is on the end cap take it out and then try probing by hand with different size twist drills to see which one fits into the UJ. Hold the drill with a T type tap wrench and gently screw it into the UJ withdrawing it regularly with the compressed dead grease. You might get lucky and the slug of solid grease gets removed and hey presto problem solved. Nothing to lose.

So back the original question. Is this Neapco 1-0005 a good replacement or is there another one that I should be considering?
I have seen the Neapco referenced in several rebuild threads and noticed that is made in the USA. If there is another (better) ujoint I am open to options.
I don't know about Neapco but these are reputedly the best UJ's https://www.google.fr/search?q=photo...m=122&ie=UTF-8

Just go to AutoZone and get the 13$ ujoint, if your in a hurry for your event. I haven't broken mine yet, I think I'd break something else before I broke the u joint.

My rear had the exact same problems your describing, I couldn't force any grease in there, and when I finally did clean the zerk, it only came out one seal. I replaced my old one for a VatoZone joint, and found that my old one had 3 cracked caps, which maybe was the reason why the grease only came out one seal, because there wasn't enough pressure to push it through? Dunno, but maybe you should check it out.

Its hard, 1310 series don't fit. They require a different flange iirc. Go with stock for now and then buy a rear HD shaft :P
