Default Just encountered this

Was very cold and cap failed on tank so I was told to prevent over heating and wasn't near a store for coolant I used the faucet water. So I ended up stopping at rhe nearest Jiffy Lube to suck the system clean and fill. That was a major mistake the guy there broke the screw yeah he replaced it but never bled rhe line so air wa trapped and caused my pump to fail and system overheat. Great. So I had to diy the coolant system myself in winter no garage and 1 month later I started her up and saw the dreaded white smoke. Like sheesh. Popped the hood and saw a small bubbling below the t screw bleeder. So I am wondering if all the time the has leaked and never caught it til now. But now I have most likely a head gasket task. Guess will be doing all the maintenance updates. Along the way. Now to the point to add this thread is 8 to 9 yrs old and there are some fabricators who make and sell the T with bleeder in aluminum polished or blackened with bleeder screw. On Ebay and I think on Amazon as well. Says fits the 4.0l 4.6l V8 discovery 1999 to 2004. I am not a reseller so not posting links. Also they have a hose kits so all the fittings are aluminum as well.

Inline thermostat you don't need a tee. Read the sticky.

Default Re Inline

Just looked into the inline setup. Doesn't look to difficult. I been using Torque and the aftermarket low temp thermostat never did check for alternatives as never encountered an issue since I rebuilt my motor in 2012. Thx for mentioning this about the inline as a great upgrade. I'll skip the T and and go Inline once I tackle the headgasket this Spring. For now I epoxied the T no more leak. Used Steel Seal for the temp head gasket repair and is holding for now.

If you are going to run with a repaired tee you might want to read this post: https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...46/#post887409

Default Running temporary repair til...

For Inline and hoses upgrade. If I am going to upgrade to inline which I am based on the reading done. I am also interested in upgrading the hoses as I saw silicone offered. But want the opinion on this for practical use or it doesn't matter. Thx

Silicone is better by new rubber is probably good for 150k plus with inline mod.
