radio code need help
1. I was in the same boat a couple of weeks ago - only the previous owner did not have the radio code.
I contacted landrover.com, and to my surprise they responded the same day. I had to fax them a copy of my driver license and insurance card with the VIN (need proof of ownership) and the serial number from the radio, and the next day they emailed a code to me. After entering the newly aquired code, the radio came to life on the first try! O
When setting your radio code - my owners manual says if you have 3 unsuccessful tries, you have to let the radio sit for atleast an hour before attempting to enter them again. If the codes on the card continue to not work, try contacting landrover.com or a local dealer.
Good luck!

Hi mike
thanks it's a '98 disco. I think when this happened to our old '96 we called rover with the vin # and they filled us in. but I'm not sure. I'm heading out on a vacation today and am not looking forward to no music. Is the code supposed to be in the orig. owners manual?
thanks also to the other poster

The code will be on the radio security code card in the owners manual cover. It may be lost. But if you swing by a LR dealer they can help you. Just look one up off the LR web site, "find a local dealer" or some such.
I was in the same boat and not home when mine locked up. I just called my local dealer and they gave the code to me over the phone after I gave them the last 8 digits of my vin. Sorta makes the security feature pointless as the thiefs can just get the vin number from the dash but it worked out well for me.
