Default Radio goes silent with wipers/horn and occasionally turn signals

I'm running an jvc head unit with adapter to factory harness. Ive rechecked all my crimps.

no issues before head unit swap.

When the horn is hit the radio goes silent. Same with signals sometimes and even wipers.

Has anyone else had this issues?

Sounds like there might be some crossover between the steering wheel controls and the head unit. Perhaps see if you can extract the pins for those out of the harness to see if the behaviour continues.

Thank you, I'll look at the connection and see if I can disconnect any dash controls I may have hooked up

Ha!
This happened to me too. I turned the headlights on while the Sony radio was playing and the radio turned off. My steering wheel controls have never been connected to the aftermarket radio.
Weird.

Weird.

Maybe our disco's are not a fan of our musical choices?

the head unit doesn't cut off, just the music.

Now that I think about it, maybe mine just goes silent too.
It happens in a split second so I really can’t tell. When the music stops it’s like “Wtf mate?” then the music starts back playing.

I am 99.9% I found the source. I was not keen on digging into the dash as it's the little ladies issue and not mine.

However a week ago she reported blinking drive light and I think 2 dash lights associated with a trans limp mode. Maybe M and S

These rigs have more mood swings swings than my crazy ex gf so I cleared the cels. I test ran around the block and all ok. Sent her to her dance class. Cels returned on her way back home.

I checked charging system and sure enough it was reading 12.8 volts. Resulting in the tranny limp mode a likely the odd o2 low voltage cels I kept getting for the past month or so.

Ordered a new alternator, correct some amazing po wiring issues and she is now at 14.5 at idle.

Sadly the battery was already in a weak state despite being a 2/21 battery.

In with with a group 27 battery. I ran a test for amp draw with alternator wire connected vs disconnected to verify no issues with parasitic draw from reman alternator. All checked out well.

Even added 4 cheap pyle speakers to replace her rear door and passenger door speakers. Will be removing the pyles from cargo door to install skar 6.5s as the rear gets too many watts for the pyles.

Anyway, I can crank ac, blast radio,, turn on lights, turn on wipers, turn on light bar and blow horn now.

Now i I need to find a used light switch stalk ad hers turns off when I turn on the brights unless you hold it back all the way.

You may be able to just clean the stalk that switches the high beams... Same as the wiper stalk they get dirty and develop intermittent spots. More digging but many have fixed this issue... Good luck!
