horn problems!
I hope someone might have an answer....at 2:00 this morning the horn was apparently going off (not the alarm) on my 2002 land rover discovery, I know this since the policeman said my neighbor called and complained about the noise. By the time he had gotten to my house the horn stopped and is now "dead", all other electrical systems seem ok...anyone have any ideas? Thank-you...Allison
You live where it is getting colder at night dont you?
The contacts in the horn buttons are getting worn out, they shrink when they get cold and set off the horn.
Horn buttons are nothing more than a contact switch, press the button, you press the contacts together and close the circuit setting off the horn.
You will need to remove the horn fuse or unplug the horn under the hood until you can replace the buttons.
This is common on the DII, happens every year around this time, lots of posts about it.

Its a Rover, everything is $1,000 to repair! LOL!!!
The next thing you can expect, if you live where it gets really cold, is the wipers not working, the switch does the same thing as the horn button, it wont work until it (passenger cabin) warms up and the contacts expand.

Wow, something else to look forward to, no washers..whee!! I am used to the $1,000.00 bill but it would be nice to be able to dodge that bullet this time..used to have a Jeep, then I got this truck...never going back!! Thank-you so much for the heads up!
The wiper switch is cheap and you can install it yourself if you have a few basic tools.
A new switch online is about $150, takes maybe 30min to install if you're a idiot or dont know which way to loosen the screws.
Seriously, it is easy.
Or you can buy a used switch for like $30.
Or you can takes your apart and rebuild it.
I would not worry about that until it happens to you.

The cold weather just caused my horn to do the same thing. Disco parked right outside my bedroom window scared the bejeebuz out of me and the lady at 5am (presumably the coldest part of the night). I knew it wasn't the alarm but I was still befuddled because most of my horn problems in the past have been with it NOT honking. I pulled the battery to get it to stop asap, then pulled the fuse. Will be looking for a new set of buttons today.
