Default Radio Help Needed

I have a 2004 Disco with a radio which won't turn on. I have checked all fuses - to include the one on back of radio. I have also put a meter on the primary power and auxilary power at the back of the radio. Both check out. The radio buttons light up with the instrument panel when the headlights are turned on, but otherwise will do nothing. Not sure what else could be wrong except that the radio is shot. Thoughts?

Default Radio Fuse...

Which radio do you have?

I had the same issue in my 2003, I have the Becker/Harmon with built in navi. I disconnected the battery (only do this if you have the code) and let it sit for a few minutes, hooked it back up and it came on.

Not sure if you tried this already but it worked for me.

Sounds like a good excuse to get a new head unit.

the code is listed in the glove box in a string of number. You can also call Land Rover and they will get you the code, you may have to show your registration. The code will work provided that the radio hasn't been changed out already.

I tried the battery disconnect - to no avail. My head unit is the Alpine (without navigation) number XQD000340PUY. I suppose I could change out to an aftermarket radio if nothing else works, but I would prefer to get the factory radio working as it looks better.

I see pretty cheap radios on eBay, but fear I would have the same problem. Anyone had success changing out the head unit?

These guys repair LR radios:

They can also add an aux jack for mp3/iPod players.

Default Same problem

Just bought a used 03 Discovery and at first it asked for a code after I disconnected the battey; however, before I had a chance to enter the code, i notticed the radio was dead. The lights turn on, but the unit does not turn on. I checked the fuses in all loactions and everything ok.
I need a wiring diagram to trouble shoot it further, anyone have one? The unit model number is XQD000340PUY by alpine
