Default Radio install: keep the steering wheel controls?

I'll be replacing my stock CD player. I don't have a CD changer. I'm not sure if I have a factory sub or amp. I do have tweeters on my a-frames. I have an S model (not many bells and whistles).

I got this head unit for Chrismas: http://www.amazon.com/Sony-CDXGT640U...=2ITAQSRHKNCU9

And I bought this adapter: http://www.amazon.com/Metra-70-1786-...1414487&sr=8-1

I have a few questions:

1. Will I still be able to use my steering wheel controls (volume, track, etc.)?

2. Do I need any special tools/parts other than a radio puller?

3. Will I need to do any cutting or special fitting? Crutchfield say it will fit with modification ("you will need to fabricate a trim plate").

Thanks,
Dustin

I'm not sure about the rest, but you'll need an interface adapter made by PAC to keep the steering wheel controls.

If I recall, the base model is $30 from eBay.
