Radio Removal.....

Radio Removal.....
On a 1999 Disco II. I see that there are slots in the bottom of the unit. I am assuming that these are for some sort of lock release tools. Ford had this for many years and you could simply use a coat hangar to do the trick. I have the regular radio system in the truck, capable of CD changer, but not one in the truck. I plan on installing an aftermarketCD changer myself in the truck and was curious to get the radio out of it so I may plug in the FM modulator inline with the antenna. Thanks in advance.

RE: Radio Removal.....
Make sure that you have the radio codes.
I think that the radio has input jacks on the back. Not sure if you have the Pioneer or Alpine deck, but you can get a CD changer that will plug-N-play with factory unit.

I was looking for that post to show him....
To the original poster, you can find a good used changer that will plug into your existing harness on E-bay for a lot cheaper than adding a new one. Plus, it goes direct intput instead of modulation. You will get better sound...
