Default Random no starts this week

"02 D2 147,XXXmi. Spark plugs under three years old. Replaced solenoid last summer.

Ran an errand on Monday, came back after 60 minutes, truck was completely dead. click, click nothing. Sat for a few minutes, opened the door, overhead light comes on. Turn key for electric, dash lights, radio comes on, fan blows. Attempt to turn over, and the truck starts right up.
Driver it less than a mile to my parking garage, park, turn car off, attempt re-start, nothing. Truck sits for a few hours. Starts right up to go home.

Last night same issue. Run two errands, starts, starts, then stranded at the grocery store. Two hours later, truck starts right up, no issues.

Only codes showing is P1590. Any idea what gremlins could be lurking in my electrical?

I would start by checking your battery cable and grounds. When you say completely dead, I assume that means the lights, central locking, etc. don't work either?

P1590 is a rough road code that doesn't really mean anything. I would ignore it.

Cables/terminals good.

Yeah, P1590 is for ABS, but I figured some of the first comments would be to check what codes are being thrown.

Sounds like another crankshaft position sensor.

Also swapped that out last July. Could still be bad though.

I had a problem like yours. Tried turning the ign key and got nothing... dead... with no lights even on the gauge cluster. I then turned on the headlights which illuminated, turned the ign key, gauge cluster lights lit up and my Disco started. Found out my positive battery cable was internally corroded inside the insulation and barely hanging onto the battery post clamp by 8 strands of wire. I cut back 2 inches of the positive cable and hydraulic crimped another battery post clamp. It's still going strong.

As for the CPS... What brand did you buy? Bosch is preferred vs.a crappy Duralast.

I'm almost certain it was the Bosch from Lucky 8. Just checked their site, and I don't think I would have paid more for a Britpart vs the Bosch.

I thought the usual symptom for CPS was the truck cranking but not actually starting up. Completely dead suggests an electric issue as others mentioned. I'd check battery connections are tight and free of corrosion and ground is in good shape.

This is so bizarre. Attempted to start just now, overhead lights come on, headlights come on, all electrical is good. Try to turn over, and nothing. My overhead light and ultraguage pulse, and I can hear a pretty loud clicking for 5-10 seconds.

I then re-inspect battery cable/terminals, make zero adjustments other than taking the cables off and putting them right back on. Truck starts right up.

This is common and I had this happen
go to your battery unplug it and clean your terminals with a wire brush and clean your connectors at the cables
