Default READY TO ORDER O.M.E. LIFT BUT...

Alright after looking looking through these posts for days I think that I have figured out what I am going to do. I have a 2000 disco 2 with almost 100,000 miles on it. The air shocks have been screwing with me lately so I figured it is time to make it a little bigger. I am about to order the o.m.e. 779 fronts with the 763 rears, n107 and n108 shocks, steering dampner, and the AIR SUSPENSION REPLACEMENT HARDWARE KIT. I was wondering if anyone can think of anything else I may need besides time and beer? Also after reading it seems like everyone likes the 265/75-16. Is it possible to get any wider without going smaller and not rub? Also would this tire fit on the back without any mods? I would like to thank everyone on this forum for helping me on this and future problems.

I would suggest 751s instead of the 779s if you are going to have the 763s in the rear.

The 265/75R16 needs an adapter plate to fit the rear spare mount. Without it you would not be able to close the rear door.

In addition to the new springs and shocks I recommend getting new spring isolators. These are the rubber rings that go in between the springs and their seats. The factory ones are going to be a little crushed so new ones should give you a bit more lift than springs alone. It may help with the ride too.

I saw that the 751s gave it another inch but I still have the factory bumper and I thought that they might be either too stiff or higher than the back. If anyone knows please chime in.

I have a 00 DII thatI got from my brother. He put the OME 1.5" lift on it 2 or 300 miles before I got it. No idea which shocks he used but I know the springs are 762 and 779s. The truck rides alot better than it did before. He also put 265x75x16 BFG KO all terrains on it. They will sometimes rub at full lock depending on the grade the truck is sitting on. I would alsoplan on replacing the rubber things at the top of the front springs. He did not and one tore when he took it appart. He put it back in and it was fine but now I have a slight rattle sometimes when I hit a bump so I am going to have to go back in and replace them.

265/70-16 are a bit fatter, and 3/4 smaller. IMO they look verybalanced with the OME lift and will not rub at all at full turn.

I have the OME 777 front springs, 762 rear springs and 265/70-16 General Grabber AT2

Here's a pic from a year ago. http://apu.mabul.org/up-mini/apu/200...51051n400y.jpg

If there is ever a chance of your adding a bumper or winch, I would suggest a 751 fron coil, I would suggest you consider the 762 as a better coil for the rear if you hace to replace your SLS. Me, I wouldn't replace my air for anything, what is your doing wrong and what have you done to try and fix it?

763s give a real stiff ride in the back just an fyi. Shocks you should use are 107C and 108C.

Jupiter, I need to tell you the "C" version shocks are the standard duty shocks and the valving of them does not work well with any of the HD applications.
