Default rear anfd front wheel hub...the same?

Hi.. I just reading, do not remember where, but says the front and rear wheel hubs are the same,, the only difference is the length of the cable at the abs sensor... Is that true???? Just asking to the experts.... thanks...

Ifound where I read... at ebay... looking for prices and in a store over there says that....

"This is a new hub assembly for Land Rover Discovery II. It comes complete with ABS sensor. It can be installed front or rear, left or right. The only difference between front and rear hubs on Discovery II's is the length of ABS cable and an O-ring to seal it into the rear axle."

True or False????

If you're buying a hub with a sensor designed for the rear I don't think that lead will reach on the front. Insist on a hub with a sensor designed for the front.

You can buy the hub without the ABS sensor and swap yours into the "new" hub.

Just keep in mind, Spike, it's not quite as simple as swapping sensors on a DI.

BTW, are you buying a new hub because of a bad sensor or the bearing in the hub being bad?

Yes I am aware, but they do sell them without the ABS sensor to save a few bucks.

Hi, guys.... just to inform...
I start with a bad abs sensor... when I take apart the hub.. notice that it was hard to turn..... so I end with the complete exchange,,, hub and abs sensor....

My 2001 Discovery II has a vibration betwen 60 to 70 miles.... guess what???? The vibration almost disappear ...Right now I am waiting for another wheel hub... the other side... and see if the vibration disappears....

I rebuild the front and rear propeller shafts... and the vibration stays there.... until now.. with the new wheel hub... the right one... almost gone...

If the problem disappears I going to add another post with the info..and if I have some help, a How to... maybe it could help another one....

Thanks....
