Mine pops off because whatever it is supposed to look like it doesn't.

Doesn't seem like there is access to it underneath.

I was thinking of drilling and tapping through the pin. Small bolt and washer, done.

Or maybe that rusty pin unscrews and I can drop a whole new bolt in there.

Any clues?

Huh. Look at that.

No wonder it's not on my rusty stump any more. Tiny groove for a circlip.

Look like that pin is just banged in there, it's not bolted.

Hoping they didn't glue it somehow. I'm going to try and pull it out. Tap the hole. Put a bolt in there.

Failing that I'll tap the pin.

And I learned that rovers north have diagrams.

Eliminate the goofy circlip design by drilling a hole trough by the groove, and insert a steel or stainless wire. The arm comes up easy pulling on it for easy clearance to drill.

 

Fixed it.

Rusty stub was never coming out.

Drilled and tapped it. Made an actual penny washer.

 

Boy that federal, the treasury department will be after you for destoring the penny, that cost 2+1/2 to make.

 

Felt weird drilling through Abe's face. Wondered if it was an actual crime. Then carried on. Wish I'd loctited it. I just know it's going to fall out in a couple of years. Watch this thread. Haha.
