Default Rear Center Armrest Cupholder Help

Does anyone know how the cupholder assembly comes out of the center armrest in the middle seats of a 01 Disco II. It was not working when we bought the truck. I have been able to get the insert out and the detached spring, but I can not get the housing out? Does it require a special tool, it almost looks like i might take some type of radio tool to remove it?

Ouch.

This is what search has brought me, a 5 year old thread with no replies.

My 4 year-old just yanked out the rear cup-holder on my Disco. I'd like to replace or re-assemble, I was hoping someone had any idea.

Time to open my RAVE PDF and hope it's in there..

Here is a thread from another forum on exactly how to fix it.

Cheers

I forgot to mention that you need to scroll to the bottom of the thread for the steps to fix it.
the trim surrounding the cup holder is very fragile so be careful when removing it. Also, when I fixed mine the butter knives didn't work so well to in between the clips so I used long thin pieces of metal
