Default rear door stuck

I have a 2004 discovery, and I can not open the rear door.
I am so mad I feel like blowing the door off its hinges.
Help please.

Pop the Land Rover emblem off of the rear door handle with a screw driver.
Spray the handle with silicone spray.
Work the handle.
Spray again.
The door will open.
This is common on ALL trucks with this type of cargo door and the handle, hinges and door slide need to be lubed at least every 6 months.
More often if you live on a dirt road or in the winter time if they use road salt.
It is recommended that you lube ALL hinges on your cars every 6 months.
Silicone spray will not attract dirt like WD-40 will for example.

it may take a good 5 mins of working the handle and spraying silicone in there.

Default My door wont close! Anobody care to shed some light for me?

Found this is the search section so Im reviving the thread. My cargo door was left open and now the door hand itself is compressed in and does not move. Door does not shut or secure either when I attempt to close the cargo door. I will remove emblem and use penetrating oil, but Im not convinced that will resolve the problem here. Seems most people are having problems with the interior components of the cargo door, I think mine is the handle itself. Worst case scenario Ill replace handle with new one but I need a temp solution. Any help would be appreciated.

Did you ever get this resolved? Mine is doing the same thing. Won't open from outside or inside cargo door handles.

Ok, got it. Here are some clearer instructions:

1) Use a butter knife to remove the oval logo off the black cover covering your cargo door handle.

2) Spray silicone spray on all the moving parts inside hole.

3) Work the handle till it comes free.

4) Spray some silicone on the oval logo tabs so it snaps in easier.

5) Wipe off excess silicone spray that now is dripping down behind your license plate

Mine does the same. I have a routine of climbing in the back, pulling off the inner door card, and opening it that way. Then spray everything. Then curse after another 4-5 months.

Will try the less stressful 'butter knife' trick.

Hi guys, mine does this occasionally to. I just knock the door handle from the outside with a hammer or anything hard and it works again. Stick, shoe, her bottle etc etc. works every time for me.

Mine only gets stuck after I put something big enough in there that I can't get out the side doors. A shot of penetrating fluid, wait 15 min and it opens right up. I tried using some motorcycle chain lubricant this time to see if it lasts longer... time will tell.
