Default Rear door won't open!

The rear door on my 97 Disco has decided it doesn't want to open anymore. It worked just fine when I bought the Disco back in August. After a 500 mile road trip shortly after buying it, the door refused to open. I took the interior panel off and, with some tinkering, got the door to open. That lasted until I got home from the trip and it was stuck again. Again, I opened up the interior panel, tinkered around, gave everything a little spritz of WD-40 and the door opened again. That lasted for a few hours. So I need some advice on what parts could be faulty or if anyone thinks something inside the door or latch mechanism is loose or bad.

Thanks

Are you speaking of the rear tail end door or second row seat door ?

It's the rear tail end door.

You need to use a spray grease that may be
all its needs. WD-40 is good but will not last long.
Pop out the LR badge and have at it.

You suppose something is just plain stuck?

Mine did the just about the same thing.
I was loading the rear, closed the door and went for another
load. The door was stuck, after the spray grease everything
still works.

I didn't have any good spray grease, but I needed to get the door open to get at the fuel pump. I took off the badge, sprayed in some liquid wrench, and it popped right open. Thanks for the tip! What kind of grease would you reccommend for long lasting results?

Both my driver door and my rear door dont open, I need to pull up the lock button in order to open the doors. I wanted to open up the front door, but the door uses metric screws (which is retarded since the car is british ) so I cant open up the door.

I've got the same problem with my driver's front door. I have to hold up the lock and pull the latch at the same time when I'm inside and I have to keep the key turned while I pull the latch when I'm outside. I've pulled the interior panel off and tinkered around a bit and have not been able to figure anything out.

The spray grease, any kind will work.
Just regrease it every once in while, all the door locks (not the key holes)
that you can get to a little TLC will go a long way.
Mike.
