Default Rear Drive Shaft Question

I tried searching for this one, but wasn't able to find the info and thought I'd start a new post to pose the question.

I'm replacing the rotoflex in my '03 Disco II and looking for some help on the best way to replace the bearing at the rear of the shaft? The RAVE lists the LR tools used, but I can't find them available anywhere. I'm sure some of you have done this exact job multiple times, so what's the best way to go about it, or have you just re-used the old one that's already pressed into the shaft?

Any ideas and advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

It's a bushing. Need a universal small blind hole puller (or slide hammer) and a press (with short mandrel for best alignment as shown on pic). Just measure the bushing hole depth and diameter and start looking on amazon or ebay for the generic tools.....

you could try this I have done it in the past, get a bolt thats a good fit in the bushing/spigot, 2-3 inch long, a nice tight fit, OK pack the bush /spigot with grease a much as you can get in,, now put the tight fitting bolt in the bush you can put a cloth around it to help it seal, now knock the bolt into the spigot, with a hammer, the grease acts like hydraulics and can push the spigot out you may need to pack more grease in once it starts to come out, to keep it moving

its worked for me a few times, I normally do this on the spigots in a fly wheel

I’m in the middle of the same issue. After much research, I may leave the old one on. It didn’t have any problems before I started this rotoflex and output shaft seal job.

I've not had to replace the Rotoflex in my truck, but I'm just curious --- how important is it to replace the bushing when replacing the Rotoflex?
