Default Rear Frame Coating

I found a "To do" list for DII's and one of the items was coating the rear frame to prevent rust. What has everyone had luck with? POR15 or something else?

not POR! get a compact needle scaler and clean off rust. Then use a few coats of rust mort (buy a gallon and spray it on with a plastic bottle sprayer). then clean off excess and paint.....

Watch some rust preventative videos comparing the products. Based on what I have seen I would start with rust reformer, then coat with fluid film, and then topcoat with used engine oil. Used engine oil gets a stickiness to it that adheres to the metal and repels water. Ever seen seen a rusty frame under the engine of a Disco? No - never rust there due to the oil coating. Do it inside and out. Fluid film comes with a long flexible hose and 360 spray nozzle. Goes inside the frame. Use the nozzle with the rust reformer first. Recoat annually before winter.
