Default Rear frame shops

The time has come to look at the rusty rear frame on my 04.

I’m hoping its salvageable to some degree, but when I look under there its a horror story.

I’m prepared for the ‘whole frame welded in’ option, but don’t have the time to mess about with it myself. I reckon the material is too corroded to just patch.

Im in Putnam County NY. Anyone got any recommendations of someone to have a look and potentially sort it.

Yeah I know. Or a half frame for a bit more.

I’m looking for a place to call about having a look at it. In the NY area.

Thanks.

They estimate $4500 for a half frame swap. Eek.

I don't understand...

I live in the middle west salt belt area and have never seen a bad frame!

I mean.. I've had issues with the firewall rusting, the cargo area, wheel wells, roof, but never the frame?!

I can weld, and have the kit. But I dont have the time. Or the space or lifting capabilities.

Anyone here done it? Dont suppose anyone did any kind of write up?

I feel my frame was a victim of the road salt in my area. They throw that stuff down at the merest hint of snow. Maybe the guy who first bought it never got the underseal option........
