Rear Hub Shot or Just O-ring

Rear Hub Shot or Just O-ring
ok...after many weeks of delays i finally have this assembly apart
when i rotate the old hub, i dont hear anything unusual (no rubbing or grinding sound). when i went to take it apart there was a lot of purple oil in front of the stake nut (magic purple)
the old one feels a bit grittier than the one i got from roverland, but then again mine has 150K on it.
so do i replace whole hub or is this just the o-ring. seems like a lot of fluid to leak for just an o-ring when i have not driven it. i am happy to get a $200 credit with roverland for other stuff but dont want to cheap out and ruin brake pads, ets... i am really looking for final confirmation to trash the old one.
there seems to be a ton of old grease built up where shown in attached picture (between flange and bearing) does that mean it is in fact a bad hub?
thanks for your advice
