Default RE: Rear Ladder

No, looked it up. Both Rivnut and Plusnuts use an expansion tool.

I guess I am one of those dorks too....but I bought mine with the ladder (albeit rusted and useless) and no rack. I see that eBay has them for about $150.

I've been considering becoming one of those dorks. I don't have a need for a roofrack at the moment and can live without the added wind noise for now. I would like one to mount a rear flood light onto and it'd give me a good place to strap a shovel when working around the farm.

I have the Baja Rack and ladder. The Baja Rack ladder does not require holes. It mounts above and below the door. It lips over the top and clamps to the bottom. It's a very easy install. However, throw away the bolts that come with the ladder and go buy grade 8 nuts and bolts. Otherwise you'll twist them off while tightening them and then you'll go buy grade 8 bolts. Save a step and buy them first.

AB has ladders for $80 which is where I got mine, and it works great!

I was one of those dorks while searching for my rack! Now I am a dork again while I have my rack off cleaning it up a bit and adding the flooring.

Realistically, what's the weight limit of these ladders? Are they strong enough to hold a tall heavier guy or just for skinnier folks?

Use stainless steel sheet metal screws.
The door skin in aluminum, so it wont rust.
As for the weight limit...I'm 200lbs and I stand on the ladder all the time loading/unloading the roof rack.
Of course the door has to be closed.

THATS! the one I bought, sweet ladder fair price.
only reason I'm on this thread is it came with NO instructions.

I reckon it's not rocket science, but I was looking for a bit of advice on placement, it can go a bit to the left/right, is there a preferred spot?
