I am wiring some rear lights on my safari roof rack on an 01 disco. I am mounting a switch on the inside wall by the rear door and need to find a constant power source that I can switch. Does anyone have any ideas regarding where I might find a constant power source back in that back area? I

 

There isn't one located in the rear of the truck, don't go into the dash, just wire up to the engine compartment fuse block.

 

so basically I should run a wire from the engine compartment fuse block back through the trim to the rear compartment.(as I have not done this in the engine compartment before are there any tricks or do and don'ts to this or ways to attach or splice or specific locations to splice to)?
