Default Rear view mirror

My rear view mirror (inside) fell off the windshield...

How do I re-attach it? The little metal "button" doesn't seem to come off (I don't see a little screw).

Do I just put that Permatex mirror glue and then hold the whole assembly onto the windshield until it drys??

The metal piece slides off. No way for the glue to dry with it fully assembled.

May take a little force slide off the metal piece. If the rear view mirror was on the glass as normal you slide it down to remove it from the metal piece that is glued to the windshield.
