Default Rear window wiper

It's a little frustrating , that the wiper removes only 50% of film on the rear window. Didn't really notice at first, but the rear window is a convex bubble. And the wiper itself is straight. Is there a way to make the wiper match the curvature of said window???? Didn't Land Rover engineers figure this one out?? Any fixes??

Have you replaced the blade recently? This isn’t an issue on mine.

I installed Disco 1 wiper arms on my Disco 2 years ago with no issues.

I don't believe my rear window has any curve to it.

I had the same issue. I used a heat gun to bend the arm towards the glass and it helped with pressing the wiper blade down.

Yes. The rear window is convex. Just look at it from the side. So, anyway, wiper arm and blades are new. Miron knows what I'm talking about. Modifications are in order, then?

I'd say yes. In my case i had to replace the entire arm and the aftermarket one was so lousy that it was riding on the widow gasket. If yours is original, then maybe sourcing a stronger spring would help.

On my 2K2 Disco S2, when the wiper "used" to move from 9 to 1, the area towards the outer tip of the blade that needed to be wiped at around 11 was not done completely, so streaks were left; initially I thought because part of the plastic holding the rubber blade near the tip was broken; but it also happened with new blades. Unfortunately, nowadays the rear wiper only reacts when I give it a push, so it goes up to 1 then back to 9 and stays put. But you are right, it did not flush 100% against the contour of the rear window.

Default Similar re as r window issue

When I got mine it was detached so bought a used arm. But my rear window was full of scratches at 9 to 1 minus a section etqeen 11 and 12 like it looks like it lifts. And that's what I experienced when I replaced it. I polished rhe rear window to remove the scratches took a few hours. I did as some.other suggested bend the wiper I used trico blades that are metal framed not the plastic Valeo. And I have a solid contour now and I use RainX waterless carwash spray and been great for smooth wiping although it still don't clean further than that area.

It seems like the rear wipers were an after thought. But why is the rear window "Convex", and not flat ?? Is there a good reason ??
