No, I mean the on road ride will be bad. I am with you on the off road.

ok I get ya. I'm sure as with any top heavy SUV I lift the ride quality will degrade. I just don't wanna feel like I need a 4 wheel alignment going into town. I know it will be stiff and a bit rough but I'm sure there has to be some medium out there to help it out

If you find a combo that doesn't make these things feel like you are in a wagon with concrete wheels please let us know. I had an 89 Range Rover with 2" RTE's and OME shocks, it rode better than the Discovery but ONLY slightly. I mean very slightly. Like barely noticeable. Godspeed.

What kind of shocks did they have with their springs?

I can check tonight, but mine has the 4.5" lift with raised / adjustable shock towers.

They might be Terrafirma shocks but I cannot confirm yet

Here's mine with +2" HD terrafirma springs/shocks. Rides well. Better than stock and certainly better than when I had it lifted with spacers. Definitely stands tall even with all the heavy stuff I have on it.

You mean to say it rides better the stock ride with 150k on clapped out shocks and springs. Not better than new stock of course. I would guess than many current owners never experienced what one of these rode like when new. Having driven mine for 160k myself, I can say for certain what the new ride was like with both air ride rears and springs.
