Default Recommended 16" tires for Disco II

Looking for some tires-- 85%/15% highway/off-road: highway driving (600+ miles to the mountains and the desert) then off-road in southern Utah / northern AZ, etc.

I have factory 16" rims and am planning on either 255 65 16 or 255 70 16. I won't have enough lift or bumper clearance for larger tires until my next set of tires.

So...what would you suggest: Size and tire

Thanks for your help!

Lots of folks here are running 245/75, which is supposedly the biggest you can run on a stock D2 with no rubbing.

Haven't seen many people here post about them, but I had Dueler AT Revos on my Tacoma and thought they were awesome both on and off road. They're right up with with BFG All Terrains.

I have the Cooper S/T's on my truck and I LOVE them, they are quiet on the road and GREAT off road.
The Hankook was my very close second choice, and I mean they had the Coopers in stock so I bought those instead of the Hankook's...
Any one of these tires will do what you are looking for.
EDIT:The BFG A/T KO's...SUCK HAIRY TWINS!!! I had them on my work van and they are by far the worst tire EVER!!! All you are doing is paying for the name.

I LOVE the the General grabber A/T2. Great tire on road and off road, quiet, and great value. They also come with a 60,000 warranty if you buy from a General dealer. I have 18" wheels, but the A/T2 comes in size 245/75, which, as mentioned, is run by many of our members. Like spike said, dont pay for a set of BFG's when you can get tires that are just as good (but probally better) for even less.

X2 on the General's. I have over 20k on mine and they still look brand new. Best tire I've owned.
