Two trucks, one pulling from under the r/f frame behind the front tire, make sure to air up your r/f tire to 50 to 60 pounds so you won't roll the tire from the bead.
The second truck needs to strap the roof, lay a shipping pad across the roof, lay a strap over it down the left side of the truck and securing under the truck to the frame.
Then start the pull with the front tires facing straight ahead, let the truck pull you, be idling in drive just incase you need power at some point. Since you are in mud, the truck will slide sideways and with the tires facing forward, there is less chance of rolling. Once you get it moving up the bank, then very slowly start turning into the slope and power out, make sure to keep a lot of tension of the roof strap.
This would be a fun pull to do, so don't get too crazy about it, just think about how the truck performs. Let the other 2 trucks do most of the pulling till you are at a proper angle.

Thats an aluminum roof guys dont be pulling, strapping, anything on that b pillar or roof, if your that concerned about the truck rolling dig into your tricks and find "the Bag jack" basiically its a balloon made from reinforced kevlar that you inflate under the car. I saw this in school in mud recovery, never was smart enough to ask about who makes it. Then after the wheels are high enough on the driver side jam a few pieces of wood under them level the truck. Then drag it out. Once a year a select few go to Montreal for recovery class (a drunken brawl) but fun, alot of cool stuff a water hazard, mud hazard and rock hazard and then the fun begans a rated game with prizes from Land Rover on which team does the most damage free and quikest recovery. Look at the longitude trucks they had it all (D-2's) with every piece of equiptment imaginable. scott

No, it is a steel roof on a D2 and I was not suggesting pulling but keeping a static line on it to prevent rolling which is a very common procedurte when in this position.

 

There is nothing you can do with those bags other then lift. If you try to move a truck while jacked up, you will just tear up the bag and drop the truck back on the ground.
They are a good idea, just not for this situation.

step 1. enter vehicle
step 2. start engine, lock t-case, engage drive
step 3. have the truck tied to your front bumper bury the skinny pedal
step 4. proceed to bury ur skinny pedal while turning away from the water hazard
step 5. once on solid ground asses damage, post video
