recovery problem?

RE: recovery problem?
VERDICT:
it took two trucks (dad;s 4x4 Z71 and step dad's 4x4 dually one ton a 5 ton come-along (as anchor to convient railroad utility post).
the problems were:
A. a county sheriff with NO sense of humor "you'all gonna KILL your selves if you try to pull that there german truck out tonight - you let it sit til daylight or ima gonna arrest you all!" (not a joke!)
B. it was 20 degrees and dry when i slid off trail into edge of lake. when we went back in morning it was 40 degrees and raining. couldnt get recovery vehicle in front of rover or within 60 foot of rear of rover cause everything that drove near it also slide into lake.
C. some idiot seeing lights from interstate and calling 911 as "some truck just drove into lake! SEND HELP! NOW!" so the shole fire department, water rescue unit AND city/county/state police showed up (I was the local water rescue guru in the area along with my stepdad when i lived there so that part was KINDA funny... sorta)
[shoulda seen the sheriff try to figure out if the guy in the army dry suit was WITH his water rescue team (they all wore safety orange) or if i really was the driver of the vehicle - i had all my dive gear packed into rover to bring it back out to WA from home is the reason it was in the rover btw}
more to follow...
