This light keeps coming on... In the manual it says to turn the car off and let it sit for a while... But this has been happening kind of frequently lately... Any idea if this could be sign of trouble?

Read your manual, what does it say about the light, your cluster is different then mine so I am drawing a blank.
Doe it light up with all the other warn lights when you first turn on the key?

Sorry, my original post was not very helpful... Its the tranny light... Its coming on by itself only... The last few times its been on, it has been snowing out... Not sure if thats a coincidence or not...

 

Check the fluid.

 

OK, so that light is supposted to let you know if the tranny is over heating, how many miles on your truck, how often do you service the tranny?
They have been known to have a bad tranny temp sensor, you could also have a flow problem the the tranny cooler.

Truck has 40k miles... 2003 SE... Never touched the tranny...

 

You never had the tranny serviced at the 30,000 service. I would seriously suggest you go find a shop that can flush your tranny ASAP before you pay out the really BIB $$$$$.

Your truck should still be under warranty. The dealer should do everything as far as service until 50,000 or 4 years I believe. The tranny is a 30,000 mile service. If you take it in now they'll probably do the 45,000 mile service too.

I had the 4 year 36k mile warranty I thought? I just had a window regular die last month, and it cost me $300 at the dealer... ?
