Arrow Redo Ground Points?

Anyone ever "redo" the ground points on their Disco?

Better yet does anyone have a good diagram, or can state all the locations so that at the very least they can be checked/cleaned/etc... ?

I do not know the answer to your question.
I have heard that on a older car with ground based problems you can just run a nice big ground wire from the negative terminal to the frame.
But I can neither confirm nor deny this.

Spike, running a ground from battery to frames really doesn't do much. Yea, it make the ground contact point to the battery, but say you have a corroded ground point at the rear of the vehicle, thas completely gone, the current has no way to get back to ground. Its best all ground points are found, cleaned and checked for corrosion.

All the above is true, however, the ground point that the battery directly connects to impacts all current paths, where a single circuit at gizmo #3 may not impact everything else. A poor "main" ground can impact starting, charging, and in some cases allow alternator voltage to go high, "toasting" electronics. On my Disco, the main frame ground is straight down from the battery, can be seen looking along side but below the radiator. Just follow the big wire. But again, all those other ground points can each cause problems with their own circuits. When working on circuits, many times the first thing you find is not the only thing wrong. And if there is corrosion on one, who is to say those conditions don't exist elsewhere on the vehicle?

X1. It's worth checking out the main grounds under the hood which are usually the charging, starting and ECU. Many of the grounds are buried behind trim somewhere or another and to access them all would be a lifetimes endeavor. At a rough guess I'd reckon there could be 50-100 inacessible grounds hidden around a D2.
