Default removed shaft from rear

question= p-brake drum housing makes an occasional "bell ding" noise. that ok? do I need to pull it off? I have never even looked in there other options? will a d1 shaft fit?

reason= got new diffs/new flanges.no more rotoflex. I took a spare rear shaft to drive shaft place to have them swap out the rotoflex section with welded on u-j to new flange section. this was done as a stop gap, while waiting on my new gbr rear shaft. still waiting.
problem is the refab, it is causing vibration. prolly poor quality and balancing. so I removed it. 2wheel drive disco again.
